Murray Gordon, president of MAGA, Ltd. in
Deerfield, has been selected to serve as a delegate to the 2005 White
House Conference on Aging (WHCoA), to be held December 11-14, 2005 in
Washington D.C.
The theme of the conference—which is held just once
each decade—is “The Booming Dynamics of Aging: From Awareness to
Action.” Because Gordon’s specialty is Long Term Care Insurance, it’s a
subject near and dear to his heart.
“I’m thrilled to be attending,” says Gordon. “And
considering that the first wave of baby boomers is now reaching
retirement, this is a particularly important conference.”
As a delegate, Gordon’s responsibilities will
include voting on resolutions and developing implementation strategies
that will be presented to the President and Congress. The conference
will cover a range of topics, including senior health, employment,
social, and community issues.
A Long Term Care Insurance specialist for more than
30 years, Gordon is intensely concerned with health issues affecting
seniors. An active long term care educator and advocate, he previously
participated in the Governor’s Conference on Aging and Long Term Care,
as well as the first and second Alzheimer’s Conferences.
“I’m a great believer in planning,” says Gordon.
“People are living longer, and that’s something we all need to plan
for—individually and at the government level.”
